We have a week of online events planned for Holy Week, in the days leading up to Easter. These evenings were going to be held in the church, but will now be led over Zoom from people’s homes. We’ll be posting the Zoom links for these services and events in the next few days.
8-9pm: Simon Jenkins takes us through three Easter icons of the Orthodox Church, and gives us a guided tour of the icon corner of his room.
8-9pm: Members of our worship team share songs and music from their rooms, and talk about what it means to them.
1pm: Washing feet for Junior Church under 5s – We’ll be hearing the story of the last supper, and then having a go at washing our families’ feet, play with the bubbles and sharing a special meal over Zoom.
1.30pm: Washing feet for Junior Church over 5s – We’ll listen to the Bible passage about the last supper and the foot washing, followed by discussion, role play and sharing a meal together over Zoom.
8-9pm: Alice Ormondroyd reflects on her journey towards ordination using the story of the Last Supper
1pm: Junior Church under 5s – We’ll be doing a role play of Jesus carrying the cross and the sadness people were feeling, and we’ll paint palm crosses and sing songs about how much Jesus loves us.
1.30pm: Junior Church over 5s – We’ll listen to the Bible passage detailing the final hours of Jesus’ life, have a discussion around this using godly play questions, and create a piece of artwork of the crucifixion.
2-3pm: An hour at the cross, with a service of readings, music and silent meditation on the seven last words of Jesus
10am: Our Easter Sunday service, celebrating the resurrection of Jesus.
If you’re on a desktop or laptop computer – simply click the red ‘Join the service’ button above, and you’ll be directed to where the service is happening. If you don’t yet have the Zoom app on your computer, you’ll be asked to download and install it. You might also be asked if you want to test your computer audio – this is a good idea, to make sure your speakers and microphone are working properly.
If you’re on a mobile phone or tablet – you can download and install the app, which is called Zoom Cloud Meetings, from your regular app store. Follow one of the links below. Once you’ve done that, come back to this page and click the red ‘Join the service’ button above.
