Rev Chris Lee, Vicar of St Saviour Wendell Park, TSSF, YF Minister
Chris was ordained deacon in the Diocese of Mt Kilimanjaro at the age of 24. He was living in Tanzania as a missionary, and following a distance learning degree in theology. When he returned to Britain, he continued his studies at Ridley Hall, Cambridge.
At Queens’ College, Cambridge, Chris served as assistant chaplain, where he was awarded a hockey blue. He met his wife Jenny while he was studying, and they now have two girls, Rose and Saoirse.
Chris served his curacy at Holy Trinity Brompton, where he was involved in the church’s homeless shelter. He became priest in charge at St Saviour’s in 2015, and was made vicar in his third year here.
As revchris7, Chris is active on Instagram, with over 150,000 followers from around the world. His 60 second sermons there have received nationwide media attention. He is also a regular and popular guest on YouTube’s Korean Englishman and Jolly channels, He uses his social media platforms to communicate the goodness of Jesus Christ, and has been asked to help the Church of England think about the best ways to use the social media space.
Chris is working on a new book with Tyndale Publishing called Beloved. Look out for the release in 2023. His book, The OMG Effect: 60-Second Sermons to Live a Fuller Life, offers personal wisdom to help readers refresh their outlook, reflect on their values and transform their lives.
Chris is passionate about prayer and helping young people deepen their own prayer life and spirituality. He is a Third Order Franciscan, and leader of the Young Franciscans, young people (18-35) who feel called to a deeper and more focused Christian life.
